Our specialist electrical engineering work includes the ability to respond quickly, to attend and report on the Origin and Cause of fires suspected of having an electrical origin. This specialisation can also include carrying out detailed electrical investigative work to identify possible specific causes of electrical faults or failures that resulted in injury to person(s) or damage to property for their owners and/or their insurance company.
Our Professional Electrical Engineer is available to attend court proceedings, tribunals, and mediation and arbitration hearings as an expert witness. Detailed electrical reports and calculations are prepared to assist legal teams, Loss Adjusters, Fire Investigators and insurance company representatives with their investigations.
Stephen Watson leads the electrical investigations. He is a degree-qualified Chartered Electrical Engineer with more than 40 years experience within New Zealand and overseas in the construction industry. He has been involved with carrying out insurance electrical investigative work for the past 10 years. He is highly regarded within the electrical industry, having led the electrical engineering design on several multi-million dollar projects, both within New Zealand and overseas. His electrical experience covers a wide range of specialist areas including high voltage, low voltage distribution, controls, lighting, and automation. He is a Corporate Member of the Institution of Electrical Engineers based in the UK, a member of the Professional Engineers of New Zealand (IPENZ) and a Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
