Brad initially joined Corporate Risks as a trainee in December 2001 primarily as an assistant during Operation Pacman. Pacman was a long term undercover operation targeting the illegal poaching and distribution of paua and crayfish. This operation was run by Corporate Risks for the Ministry of Fisheries.
Brad’s role in Pacman included administrative support and acting as a courier for the Agents and Operators, transporting exhibits and highly confidential documents (agent’s daily notes and statements) throughout the North Island. Brad has since trained as a Surveillance Specialist and has amassed in excess of 5,000 hours on static and mobile surveillance operations.
Due to the expanding nature of the Corporate Risks Fire Investigation team – Brad began his specialist Fire Investigation Training under the guidance of Grant Weavers and Russell Joseph.
In 2013 Brad commenced a Masters Degree in Fire Investigation through the Charles Sturt University, Sydney. He has now completed a Graduate Diploma in Fire investigation and is well on his way towards his Masters degree. During this period Brad has also completed 45 IAAI Certified Fire Investigator papers covering a wide variety of fire investigation related topics.
Brad’s formal training over the past 4 years has also included developing high level skills and training in scene photography and 3-Dimensional scene modeling. With the purchase of a specialized drone – Brad has also undertaken to document complex fire scenes from the air and in some cases has flown the drone into dangerous and inaccessible fire scenes.
He has attended 1 International and 3 National training conferences and will be attending a further International conference in September 2016.
For almost four years now - Brad has been attending fire scenes with the Grant Weavers and Russell Joseph as a Corporate Risks Specialist Fire Investigator trainee and has now attended in excess of 200 fires in this capacity.
Since the beginning of April 2016, Brad has taken responsibility for documenting and reporting on total loss house and structure fires.
He is now operating as a fully independent Specialist Fire Investigator but will remain under the control and direction of Russell Joseph who will continue to peer review all completed files.
Brad is supported by our team of administrative support personnel and will operate in the General Wellington Metropolitan region but may still assist with investigations throughout NZ as required.
